When you’re planning Superbowl party food you have to think hearty, spicy, and easy to eat. Your party guests will have one eye on the TV, and one arm up in the air cheering on their favorite team. Try to focus on appetizers, and snack foods for your Superbowl party menu.
Here are a few of my favorite favorite game day munchies for Super Bowl Sunday:
- Buffalo Chicken Wings
- Potato Skin Pizzas
- Artichoke Bacon Spread
- Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip
- Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork
- Mango Shrimp Tostaditos
- Mexican Seven Layer Dip
- Spicy Chicken Quesadillas
- Chipotle Sliders
- Guacamole Football Field
- Veggie Wraps with Olive Tapanade
- Cayenne Pretzels
- Pizza Pinwheels
- Loaded Nachos
- Cajun Meatballs
If you have a favorite party food, or appetizer for game day please feel free to share.

These all sound wonderful! At most of my super bowl parties, however, dips are the hit of the party. The following 5 layer dip recipe is PERFECT for pleasing a crowd, and preventing you from spending a lot of time in the kitchen!
Easy, Elegant 5 Layer Dip
Ingredients:
• 12 oz. container Santa Barbara Bay Chili Con Queso
• 1-2 cups grated cheese
• 1 can diced tomatoes
• sour cream
• guacamole
• green onion
• sliced black olives
• tortilla chips
Directions:
1. Layer first five ingredients in a clear glass dish.
2. Top off with more grated cheese to cover top.
3. Garnish with olives and green onion.
4. Serve with fresh tortilla chips.
ENJOY!
Morgan~ Sounds wonderful! Thanks for sharing:-)
Wow, you’ve just planned my Superbowl menu! Thanks, Linette.
Here’s my recipe for Buffalo Chicken Dip! Perfect for Superbowl Parties. Tastes like hot wings but without the mess.
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
2 cans (9.75 oz each) Swanson Premium Chunk Chicken Breast, drained
½ cup Frank’s RedHot Sauce
½ cup blue cheese salad dressing
½ cup crumbled blue cheese
Assorted fresh vegetables and/or crackers
Directions:
1) Stir cream cheese in 9” deep dish pie plate until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients.
2) Bake at 350°F. for 20 min. until hot and bubbling. Stir. Serve with vegetables and crackers.
Tips:
- Substitute ranch dressing for blue cheese dressing and shredded cheddar cheese for blue cheese crumbles.
- Make it tailgate friendly – prepare ahead of time and transport in a disposable heavy foil pan. When you get to the tailgate heat it on a grill and serve nice and hot!
- Make this in the microwave by heating it on high for 5 minutes instead of baking
- Keep it warm in a crockpot or slow cooker
Great recipes, Linette! As a vegetarian who always seems to be forgotten for the Super bowl, I love the Veggie Wrap recipe and will be bring it as my contribution to the party!
In addition for this year’s Superbowl cooking I think we need to take a previous Superbowl commercial into consideration; Tide-to-go “Talking Stain” Ad. As everyone jumps around cheering on the teams, drinks and food are bound to be spilled all over! To keep our homes and our friends clean (and maintaining good impressions), might I suggest having Tide-to-go pens at the party?
On behalf of Tide, I’d like everyone to know that Tide is offering a coupon at Tidetogo.com (stock up and be the “Hero” at the party!)
Also, if you loved the “Talking Stain” commercial, you can vote for it to be named the top Superbowl commercial on CBS.com There will be a show revealing the top choice on Jan 31, 2009. Vote here: http://www.cbs.com/collections/superbowl/index.php?week=1 (Then at 8p.m. ET, watch the show and vote live to pick between the top 3!)
I have a recipe on my youtube channel for Chuncheon Wings. They’re hotter and more interesting than Buffalo wings.
