60 Awesome Barbecue Recipes

If there’s one thing I can count on for the long weekend is that there will be plenty of barbecuing going on. My husband, while not someone who is very sociable, loves to grill. Throughout the spring, summer and fall - and even in the winter - he’ll fire up the gas grill and backyard smoker and make ribs, steak, burgers, dogs, chicken wings and all of his “specialties.” Sometimes it’s just the immediately family, but we’ll also invite friends and relatives over to partake in the goodies.
We all have our favorites too, my husband loves steak, I’m partial to ribs and our almost six year old son can eat about a dozen barbecued chicken wings in one setting. Yep, we’re grilling fools.

One of my favorite summer recipes is for Rhubarb Punch. I have several recipes for it, but here are our 2 favorite ones:
Rhubarb punch
The tart taste of rhubarb mixed with the lemonade
is a refreshing change on a hot day.
Ingredients
4 C. rhubarb
4 C. water
1 C. sugar
Zest of 1 lemon
Directions
Boil 20 minutes until mush and then strain. You can dilute to taste, but best served cold. Good cut with seltzer too.
Rhubarb Punch
Ingredients
2 lbs. rhubarb, chopped
3/4 C. sugar
Juice from 1 orange
Juice from 1 lemon
3/4 C. soda water
Directions
In saucepan, bring rhubarb and 4 C. water to a boil; reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until rhubarb is softened. In cheesecloth lined sieve set over bowl, strain rhubarb for at least 2 hours or overnight. Discard pulp. Stir sugar and orange and lemon juices into rhubarb juice. Transfer to pitcher and refrigerate. just before serving, add soda water.
Brenda, thanks so much for sharing. I’m going to give one of these a try, I have some rhubarb just waiting in the garden:)
