One of the things I love the most about Chinese New Year is making the traditional dumplings. Though my mother in law does most of the work – she makes the dough and the filling – the women in the family enjoy gathering to assemble these treats. Plus, we make enough for everyone to take home a large bag.
OK, I admit it, dumplings are a weakness of mine. It’s all I could do to make them last until the Chinese New Year. One year my husband and I ate them all beforehand and had to run out to the store to buy some to have on hand. If you’d like to have your own Chinese New Year celebration, you might consider making some Chinese dumplings too.

Thanks for the links Deb. Like you I have a passion for this style of dumpling. One of our local food courts has 3 Asian food outlets who sell their own unique dumplings. Each time I visit there (sometimes just for dumplings) I always buy at least 6 from each place and pig out on 18 dumplings and dipping sauce.
