When you’re trying to come up with Halloween party games and activities, keep it simple, and think of ways to give favorite games a Halloween twist. Here are a few ideas I’ve either played or found through the years:
- Pin the nose or mouth on the pumpkin- Cut out a large pumpkin out of construction paper, or poster board. Cut a nose out of construction paper, blindfold the guests and have them try to pin the nose in the correct spot.
- Have a fall scavenger hunt.
- Dress the mummy- Have the children divide into teams and wrap one of their team members in toilet paper. The team that does the best job in the shortest time wins.
- Pass the gourd- Use the same rules as hot potato. Whoever is left holding the gourd when the music stops is out. The rest continue passing the gourd until you are left with one person as your winner.
- Play dress up, or have a costume contest.
- Paint pumpkins
- Eyeball hunt game
- Black cat treasure hunt
- Mr. Bones relay
Please feel free to share your favorite Halloween or harvest party games and activities below.

Good idea
I like the eyeball hunt game. When I was younger, we used to make all these gross food things like spaghetti worms and jello brains. You would have to stick your hand in them blindfolded and guess what they were.
I love costume parties!
I have brought in a wagon and filled it with shredded paper and took two kids for a ride around the other classrooms for our Harvest party.
