baby-shower-decorations-01 Have you ever been to, hosted or had a couples baby shower? They are actually a lot of fun, especially for first time parents. Maybe the dad-to-be would like to be included in the fun. And if you can tailor the party for couples, it might not be so hard for him to get his guy friends to come too. I love couples baby showers and you can do a lot with them.

Over the next few weeks I’ll give you all kinds of ideas for hosting the perfect couples baby shower. Let’s start with a few baby shower theme ideas.

Baby Shower Themes for a Couples Baby Shower

*Sports Theme Baby Shower: Possible sports themes are Soccer, Basketball or Football. Buy sports theme plates, napkins and cups. You can also make a sports cake which will be a big hit. And don’t forget about other decorations like sports banners and even a Piñata. Maybe the dads would like to take a swing at something and show off their strength. :)

A sports theme baby shower can be a lot of fun for everyone and also perfect if you’re having a boy.

*BBQ Baby Shower Theme: This is a great theme idea for those summer baby showers and one the dads would definitely go for. Throw some hamburgers or hot dogs on the grill, set up some tables and chairs outside and add the decorations. You could decorate with the standard red and white checkered picnic table cloths and party supplies or you could do another summer theme like Hawaiian. The ideas are endless!

As far as the cake goes, you could serve cupcakes which is always a great BBQ dessert, or maybe serve individual cups of banana pudding.

*Farm Animal Baby Shower Theme: There is so much you can do with this baby shower theme. I found some adorable farm animal party plates, invitations and napkins. Decorate the tables with straw baskets filled with hay and this adorable diaper cake centerpiece. Finger foods would be the perfect food item to serve such as vegetable sticks, a fruit tray and some small sandwiches.

For the cake, go all out and make a barnyard cake. You have to go check out these pictures of some outstanding barn cakes. Looking at them makes me want to go out and buy the supplies to make one!

Those are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing. Stay tuned for more couple baby shower ideas.

By the way, tomorrow is the second birthday of our blog. Do you have any suggestions for a virtual birthday party?

My 18 yr-old grandaughter and I spent a laughter filled afternoon assembling your adorable diaper cake. It turned out beautifully and we can’t wait for the shower! We tweaked it to our liking and had a blast doing it! Truly, your diaper cake is a wonderful project to share in the fun!
