She Knows Parties

Outdoor Party Decorations

I had a request for outdoor graduation party decorations, but all outdoor party decorations have a special challenge, they have to be able to hold up to the weather. They need to be able to hold up, or be tied down even when it’s a little windy, sunny, or even make it through a pop up rain shower.

Here are some of my favorite ways to decorate for outdoor parties.

  • Balloons! Use them to let people know where the parties at! Hang them from corner posts, and tables. Just make sure you tie them down.
  • Tulle is fabulous for outside party decorating. You can use it for more than just weddings. Add it to a garland as a pole wrap, drape it from decks, porches, or gazebos. Use strips of tulle to run down the center of your tables, or to make bows. It’s one of the most versatile outside decorations you have. Tulle won’t fall apart if it’s a little windy, or if it gets a little wet.
  • Solar lights, string lights, or tiki torches help set the mood, and light the way for late night parties.
  • Flowers make wonderful decorations for summer outdoor parties. Either plucked from the garden and arranged in a vase, or silk garlands and pre-made arrangements on tables and decks.
  • Chinese lanterns are my new favorite summer party decoration.

What are your favorite summer outdoor party decorations?
