Summer Blockbuster Parties ~ Kung Fu Panda

Are you ready for panda-monium? Kung Fu Panda premieres in theatres today and it promises to be on of the blockbuster hits of the summer. Kung Fu Panda would make a really fun theme for a summer movie party. Need some help planning the party? Here are a few panda-rrific things to get you started.

If you want to create your own invitations, or if you’re looking for free printables, games, and activities for your Kung Fu Panda party check out the official Kung Fu Panda website.

Celebrate Express has the Kung Fu Panda Party Supplies pictured above. They also have invitations, pinatas, thank you notes, and cake toppers.

Panda cupcake I made a panda cupcake for my children’s party blog. He’s really not difficult to make. I used a Wilton # 12 tip for his body, by squeezing and letting the icing build. I also used the #12 tip for his shoulders, arms, and legs. Here are the complete panda cupcake instructions. These would also be really cute for a jungle themed party.

Decorations will be simple, use a jungle theme, with reds and golds. With the summer Olympics in China this year it’s easy to find Asian influenced decorations in the store right now.

If you’re planning a Kung Fu Panda movie party share your ideas here. What went well, what didn’t work out, what do you have questions about?

Check out some of our other kid’s party ideas.

    Noodle Race Game
This one is kind of messy, but great for outdoors! Boil a pound of noodles until just soft. Add a couple drops of vegetable oil to keep from sticking, and let cool completely in a colander. Divide the noodles into two pots of cool water and place the pots on the ground or on a low table. Pair kids off into two relay teams. Give each team an empty “Noodle” bowl and a “spaghetti strainer” tool or tongs to grab the noodles. Have each kid race to grab some noodles with their “tool” then race back to put the noodles in the noodle bowl. If they spill their noodles they have to go back and get more. First team to fill up their noodle bowl wins.
