Sandra Lee Celebrating Holidays with HGTV

The Food Network’s Sandra Lee will be celebrating the holidays with a new special on HGTV. Sandra Lee star of Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee and the new hit series, Sandra’s Money Saving Meals, will cook up four new one-hour prime time specials this holiday season just for HGTV .

In each of the holiday specials, titled Sandra Lee Celebrates, Sandra will be working with deserving families to make their holidays memorable. She will help them plan their holidays from a sweet celebration for some special children, to a homecoming family reunion, see how Sandra helps the families make their holidays special.

Sandra will be offering great tips to help you plan your own holiday celebrations as well. Here is what you’ll see on the 4 Saturday night Sandra Lee Celebrates specials.

Sandra Lee Celebrates: Holiday Homecoming, Saturday, November 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT:

Christina Sobiloff, a Peace Corps Volunteer stationed in Burkina Faso, Africa, will return home to Creskill, N.J., for the holidays–and her family and friends want to welcome her with a fantastic holiday homecoming party. Sandra will work with the Sobiloff family to create a beautiful celebration that honors Christina’s service and embraces the familiar meals and Christmas decor she has missed while overseas. Sandra also will show the Sobiloff family how to take their favorite family photographs and keepsakes and turn them into memorable tablescapes, ornaments and gifts.

Sandra Lee Celebrates: Magical Merry Christmas, Saturday, December 5, at 8 p.m. ET/PT

Following their 18-year-old daughter Kelsea through her recovery from cancer at age 13, the Henderson family now spends their holiday time brightening the lives of those still in need. Not only will Sandra teach the Hendersons how to create the perfect food, decorations and tree trimmings for their own family, she also will arm them with useful tips on how to use their favorite holiday items to craft a moving ‘pay it forward’ tribute to the hospital where Kelsea spent so much time.

Sandra Lee Celebrates: Season of Surprise, Saturday, December 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT

Last year, the Morgner family’s newborn triplets were barely well enough to be brought home for the holidays. This season, as the family gets ready for the holidays with three active one-year-olds, Sandra will show them creative ways to preserve lifelong family memories, incorporate heirloom party decor and prepare unforgettable holiday recipes. HGTV Design Star finalist Dan Vickery makes a special guest appearance and uses his carpentry skills to help Sandra create unique decor items for each child.

Sandra Lee Celebrates: Winter Wonderland Party, Saturday, December 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT

Vy Higginsen not only is the leader of an organization that provides musical training to underprivileged youth, but she also is known as the first lady of Harlem. Vy, still living with her family in the brownstone her grandmother bought almost 100 years ago, will work with Sandra to throw an over-the-top holiday party for her neighborhood. With a classic holiday menu that will feed a large crowd – along with festive, budget-friendly decor ideas – viewers will see Sandra transform the family’s traditional New York dwelling into the ultimate winter wonderland party.

Sandra plans to share creative design elements and delicious food to to help you create spectacular memorable celebrations.

Hostess Gift – Hostess Helper Cheese Gift Tray

I really like this Hostess Helper Cheese Gift Tray and know that I would enjoy receiving it as a gift. Not only can you re-use the tin that it comes in, but it also has a stable shelf life of 12 months. This is something the hostess will not have to use right away and after she does use it, she’ll have a lovely tin to remind her of you.

The tin comes with four different cheeses: a 3.75-oz. box of Camembert and a 3.75-oz. box of Brie pasteurized process cheeses, a 4-oz. triangle of Wisconsin Hot Pepper pasteurized process cheese and a 4-oz. triangle of Wisconsin Cheddar pasteurized process cheese. With Christmas right around the corner and New Year’s on its way, most likely you have or will be invited to a party or two. I always think it’s a good idea to bring the host/hostess of the party a gift. The gift is just your way of telling them thank you for inviting you and showing them that you appreciate them.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll give you some great hostess gift ideas. Some you can make yourself and some are a little more extravagant.

I love this first hostess gift idea and I got this idea from the book Make It Memorable: An A-Z Guide to Making Any Event, Gift or Occasion…Dazzling!, which is just a fabulous book that I highly recommend.

Five Fabulous Things…You Can’t Live Without

This is as much fun to give a hostess entertaining you as it is to buy: Think of five of your favorite things, the most fabulous things you love, enjoy, andjust couldn’t live without. For one person, that’s a certain magazine, and for another, it’s a gadget. It can be anything that you just adore. Fill a box, or basket, or bag with these items, and a note that says, “Here are six fabulous things I can’t live without. You already know you’re the first!”

I just love this idea and have so many ideas spinning around in my head. When I think of some of the things I can’t live without I think of my favorite wine, a good book, some luxurious lotion, my favorite chocolate and my wine preserver. What are five fabulous things you can’t live without?
