Our local county fair is finishing up tomorrow. One of my favorite things to check out is the cake decorating competition. I always think I’m going to enter myself, but I never do. There are always some fabulous cakes entered. Some of my favorites this year were the in the baby shower category.
All of these cakes were behind glass, so they have a little glare.
My favorite baby shower theme cake was this one with all of it’s details and adorable fondant baby blanket.
The little rubber duck theme is very popular for baby showers. This duck cake would make an adorable …read more

Marye over at Baking Delights threw a baby shower for her daughter this weekend, and she used a really unique vintage theme. I think it’s a great idea.
It would be fun to gather up an item or two from the parents and grandparents to add to the vintage decor. Old baby blankets and quilts would make nice table covers for the gift table. Old images of grandparents, and great grandparents make nice table decorations, so do old vintage toys.
Check out some of the images from the vintage baby shower Marye put together.

We played a fun baby shower game at my sister’s baby shower called Multi Tasking Mama. It’s a fairly simple baby shower game (unless it’s your turn and you’re trying to multi task), and you can use props you already have to set it up.

Divide your guests up into two even teams. Each team gets …read more

I have been making diaper cakes for baby showers for years. I received my first diaper cake at a baby shower my friends threw for me 10 years ago. I loved it and thought it was such a great idea. A diaper cake makes a great centerpiece for the table as well as a wonderful gift for the one being honored.
You can actually make a diaper cake look anyway you want. You can make it frilly or modern or set it to the baby shower theme. If you have never heard of a diaper cake or would like to learn …read more

Now that Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s are over, it’s time to start talking about bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties and other get-togethers.
One of my goals for She Knows Parties is to find the most original, sometimes off the wall gifts to give. I love to give someone a gift that they never saw coming.
If you are heading to a baby shower any time soon and are looking for an original baby shower gift, take a look at this adorable pacifier. It’s called the Rainbow Brite Pacifier and you can find it at Abbey Hill Creations.
