Set Up A Candy Bar At Your Next Party

Set Up A Candy Bar At Your Next Party

Candy bars are very popular at parties and weddings these days. You can let your guests fill their own small box or bag with a candy mixture from a display of yummy looking candy. The candy makes a great party favor to say thank you for coming.

What do you need to set up your own candy bar? You’ll need some candy of course, bulk candy works best. You’ll also need some glass containers. You can dress up the containers with a bow or wrap them with fabric to add some color.
Don’t forget a small scoop in each candy container so …read more

Easy Gourd and Candle Fall Centerpieces

Easy Gourd and Candle Fall Centerpieces

Today I played around with some candles, gourds and a few other fall components. Iwanted to make a fall centerpiece, so I tried several different ideas.

I cut the center out of some small round pumpkin shaped gourds, then removed the insides and slid a votive candle into the hole. I didn’t do a great job of getting the hole the right size. I just eyeballed it. If I made them again I think I would measure instead of winging it.

They did turn out very well over all I tried it with just the votives with the gourds, some pine cones, …read more

Make Your Own Evergreen Table Decorations

Make Your Own Evergreen Table Decorations

Decorations for your holiday table can be as simple as walking outside and snipping a couple branches off of your evergreens. Some of my favorite evergreens to take a snip of include fir, juniper, blue spruce, holly, or pine boughs. Any of these would look great added to a Christmas floral arrangement, or strung from the fireplace mantle.
You can also add to a large vase with some fresh fruit, like oranges and lemons, or arranged with Christmas bulbs, or pine cones and white lights to make an evergreen garland down the center of your table.
If you have your own evergreen …read more

Centerpieces With a Vegetable Theme

Centerpieces With a Vegetable Theme

The other day I featured centerpieces and table decorations featuring fruit and flowers. Several mentioned that vegetables can make great party centerpieces and table decorations too. Since we’re coming into the fall harvest season, I thought I’d share a couple centerpieces with vegetables that I’ve collected through the years.
One of my favorite fall vegetables to decorate with is the pumpkin. Pumpkins make wonderful serving bowls if you hollow them out. You can have them do double duty, for function and decoration.
Or use a pumpkin as the base for a floral arrangement.
Load some fall vegetables into a cornucopia horn with some …read more

Fruit and Floral Centerpiece Ideas

Fruit and floral combinations work wonderful for party, or wedding table centerpieces. They make a nice contrast in texture and color.
Citrus is my favorite to work with in floral arrangements. I love their bright vivid colors, and they will hold up for several days without spoiling.

You don’t have to incorporate the fruit in the arrangement, you can hollow out an orange, or an apple and use them for as a vase for your floral centerpiece.

Arrange flowers and fruit in a basket to give your backyard party a casual feel.

You don’t have to pair a floral arrangement with your fruit, you …read more
