Don’t forget the hostess this holiday season. You don’t have to bring an extravagant gift to the party with you, but a little token of thanks is always nice. Personalized hostess gifts make the present even more thoughtful.

I have a couple personalized ornaments to share with you today that would make wonderful holiday hostess gifts.

I’m a gardener so I have a soft spot for these little bees.

There are several personalized ornaments to choose from, so you can fit the personality of your hostess, or convey the exact message you’d like to send to thank them for hosting an annual party, or a year end bash.

Show how much you appreciate their friendship, or welcome them to the neighborhood with these cute little houses.

Set Up A Candy Bar At Your Next Party

Candy bars are very popular at parties and weddings these days. You can let your guests fill their own small box or bag with a candy mixture from a display of yummy looking candy. The candy makes a great party favor to say thank you for coming.

What do you need to set up your own candy bar? You’ll need some candy of course, bulk candy works best. You’ll also need some glass containers. You can dress up the containers with a bow or wrap them with fabric to add some color.

Don’t forget a small scoop in each candy container so guests can scoop the candy into their favor bag or box, and small printed labels can let your guests know what type of candy they’re scooping.

What candies work well for a candy bar? Chocolates are wonderful, but so are jelly beans, M & M’s, gumballs, gummy candies, licorice sticks, lemon drops, or your favorite candy.

You can also include small cookies, or wrapped candy bars custom printed with your party information.

A candy bar makes a colorful display, and can be included as part of your decorations if done correctly, while providing your guests a little something to remember your party.

When your planning the favors for your next party, why not give them a personal touch. A little token to remind your party guests later of your party or event. You can find a company to personalize your favors for you, or make your own. I’m the crafter, so usually opt for creating my own.

I have an idea to share with you today from Erin at Between The Sheets. She made these really cute candy filled tins, with a photo of the birthday boy on the top.

These would make an adorable party favor for a kid’s birthday party, a baby shower, or a wedding with a photo of the happy couple.

Erin sent me the instructions so you can make your own personalized candy tins.

Here is what you need:

Between the Sheets round return address labels (They’ll print the picture and personalize the label for you)
Grosgrain ribbon
Small metal tin
Candy

How to make it:

Personalize the labels with a picture.
Fill the square metal tins with candy
Wrap the tin by tying the grosgrain ribbon
around the box
Seal it with your photo label.

Easy, fun, and personalized, all at the same time!

How To Make a Simple Party Pinata

If you’re a do it yourself party person, you can make your own simple pinata. One warning, it’s a messy job, but it is a ton of fun! Since it’s fun, and messy your kids will be glad to help you mix up the papier mache, tear the strips (I use newspaper), and stick them on the balloon.

If you’re having a sports party, a simple round balloon pinata can be decorated like a ball. If your party has a different theme you can use a single balloon and make a simple round pinata, or use a couple balloons fastened together to give your pinata a fun shape.

Toilet paper tubes are also great for shaping a pinata, they make great animal legs, or arms for people.
Use brightly colored tissue paper torn into small bits to decorate the outside of the pinata.

Personalized Cookie Favors

Send your guests home with sweet memories of your party. Personalized cookie favors are very popular for weddings and parties these days. Cookies decorated with a message, the couple’s names, or initials are popular to hand out to guests.

I’ve looked at several different options. We’re talking about making cookie favors for a 50th wedding anniversary. For the anniversary party I think we’re going to put the couples name and “50 years.”

Personalized cookie favors would also be wonderful for a wedding, corporate party, or birthday party.

Personalize with the couples name and wedding date for wedding cookies
A message from the bride and groom would also be wonderful for a wedding.
The corporate slogan (if it’s short) would work well for a corporate party.
The birthday person’s name or age would be fun for a birthday party.
If the party has a theme, something related to the theme would remind the guests of the fun they had at your party.

It’s such a simple concept, but there are so many ways you could use personalized cookies to help make your wedding or party memorable and unique.

How To Make A Kid’s Party Hat

You can make and decorate a kids party hat here’s a fun video to show you how. I really like the idea of cutting the edges with patterned scissors. You could use it as a fun kid’s party craft. Have the hats trimmed up with the edging scissors before the party starts. Let the kids decorate the hats with markers before you staple them together.

You could also use some pre-made streamers instead of cutting out your own if you wanted to keep it simple.

Cookie Party Favor Ideas

Cookies make great party favors, or special party treats. You can be very fancy with them, and decorate them just so for a wedding cookie favor, or make them into a cookie pop for a fun kid’s party favor, or just bag up a fresh stack of cookies for a backyard barbecue.

One of my favorite cookie favor ideas is a cookie sandwich. I made the cookie sandwich pictured here with Monster Cookies, and my favorite butter cream icing. You can also use a premade icing, or ice cream to sandwich between your cookies.

Ice cream would make a wonderful cookie sandwich summer treat.

Party Favors and Chocolate

Party favors and chocolates are a great combination. I’ve had the opportunity to try out Anne’s Decadent Delights over the last couple days, and they have some awesome melt in your mouth chocolate.

They combine their chocolates with some really cute packaging to create wonderful party favors. They have themed favor boxes to match your party, and each box holds 2 ounces of gourmet hand made private label chocolate. I featured one of the daisy favor boxes on Summer Daisy Inspired Party Ideas.

The favor boxes have personalized labels, and I think they’d be perfect for a summer wedding, baby shower, birthday party, or backyard barbecue.

Decadent Delights sent me a sample of their homemade toffee, she told me it was like a Heath bar on steroids, and she was right! It was faboulous! Melt in your mouth delicious. I didn’t even share, it went in my special secret stash, shhh, don’t tell!

Plantable Party Favors

If you’re looking for a Spring party favor, or wedding favor idea, why not consider a party favor your guests can plant or grow. There are several different ideas you can use for party favors your guests can grow and get enjoyment out of for a long time to come.

Tree seedlings are a wonderful party favor idea. Make sure you have a container, or something for your guests to wrap their seedlings in to get them to their planting location. Your guests can plant their tree keepsake to remember your special occasion for many years.
A packet of flower seeds is a wonderful Spring party favor. Your guests can go home and plant a patch of flowers to remember your party while they’re enjoying the flowers beauty all summer.
A small potted plant can also make a great wedding or party favor. Make it a perennial that can be planted in the ground, and annual planted in a biodegradable pot, or a small houseplant your guests can keep in their window.
If it’s a kid’s party favor get flower pots they can decorate, and let them get creative, then let them plant their plant or seed in the pot themselves.
Make or buy a seed card, which is a card with seeds imbedded in it you can plant in the ground.

If you decide to go with plantable party favors, you can make up your own with some seeds, or plants, or there are places online where you can find pre-made plantable favors.

I love the idea of a party favor that your guests can enjoy for a long time. A flower or tree could brighten many days, and create a fond reminder of your wedding or event. Oh, and it’s good for the environment.
