Army mom forced to choose: kid or country?
Thanks to Alejandro for sending me this link. The AP (all over, but as found in the New York Times) is reporting that an army mom and single mother decided to miss her deployment date because she had no one to take care of her child while she was in Afghanistan.
She says she was told she would have to deploy! and put her child in foster care! but an official spokesperson for the Army says they wouldn’t ship a parent out if there was no one to care for the child.
