Computers. Orange juice. Never the two should meet…
Writing is difficult, these days.
The King of Everything spilled a glass of orange juice into my laptop this weekend.
Needless to say, I wasn’t thrilled. And there was orange juice everywhere. I turned the laptop upside down to drain the liquid from the keyboard, and told the kid not to touch the computer. I explained why it was upside down. I told him to leave it alone.
He turned it right side up again.
WHY? Why on earth can’t his little hamster brain hear a request, process a request, and obey a request?
DON’T TOUCH THE COMPUTER. Get your brain off the hamster wheel and PAY ATTENTION. FOCUS. It’s amazing. I wasn’t angry with him for spilling juice into a piece of equipment I can’t afford to replace and that I desperately need for my second job… but oh MAN was I beside myself when he did just what I told him not to do.
As the tears rolled down his face, I asked what he was so upset about.
“I do not get to watch my movie!” he wailed.
SHEEZ.
*headdesk*
wake me when it’s over. And someone. For the love of Pete. Unstick my mouse pad, wouldja? The thing has Tourrets now, and stutters and hollers out unspeakable things on my screen. The right click button is especially wonky. HELP!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. My computer is almost fried too. I’m waiting until we move to our new jobs and start getting a paycheck again. Hopefully, I’ll get a new computer soon!

I’ve taken a laptop apart before, it’s not that hard, just make sure you lay everything out in the order that it goes back together!
Good Luck!

UGH, I hate when my daughter doesn’t listen to me (this happens daily). Makes me nuts. I hope you get your laptop in tip top shape soon!
i know from experience that you can run a keyboard under running water and it’ll come out working just fine once it dries (soup, not OJ) . . . but i’m not sure if you can do that to a laptop.
if you do find a remedy, let us all know. i’m sure it’ll come in handy.
