Kids and food: Thanks, Popeye!
This has been quite a week. We’ve been in and out of bed and breakfasts and hotels since Wednesday.
Maintaining a healthy diet is hard when you’re living out of a suitcase. We loaded up on fresh berries at the breakfast buffet this morning, but our menu has been seriously lacking in anything from the true vegetable side of the menu.
I’d promised the King of Everything that we’d do room service tonight for dinner. He picked out pizza and apple juice. I picked out sauteed spinach.
I’ve been able to get my kid to eat stuff he wouldn’t normally try by emphasizing the cool things food can do for his body, like salmon for smart brains, etc. So I asked him to eat some spinach and reminded him that it was good for his blood. “Yeah,” he said, taking a big bite. “And goof for your muscles too!”
