Lower your utility bills this summer: think ceiling fans
The landlord finally fixed the ceiling fans in the house.
I’m in heaven.
There’s one in almost every room of the house, and I haven’t turned the AC down past 80 degrees F. in a week. At night, I even have to use a cover.
I can’t wait to see what my electric bill is going to be. I bet there’s a significant drop.
Remember, the sun brings heat as well as light. Hang heavy curtains, or blackout curtains, on your windows and draw them during the day, especially when you’re not home. This will save your poor AC unit from fighting the sun… because you know who will win that battle? The electric company.

wow… celing fans… i can dream!
I guess in Texas we take our ceiling-fans-in-every-room for granted. I keep them on and it still feels too hot at 80F. I just nearly cried as I paid a $250 electric bill for my 2BR house! Ugh. Maybe I should crank the fans on high, but that would seem to burn a bunch of energy too. Or I could just move somewhere other than the surface of the sun…
i wish where i live ceiling fanc were the answer but even at it is way to hot in the house and instead the fan just circulates hot air, but in the next 3-4 years I will be moving to the midwest states but then i’ll have to worry about the heating bill…lol i just cant escape the bills
