Where I write
Perhaps Sunday’s post, Sanctuary, gave you a glimpse into the changed life I lead as a single mother…
I wrote that post at my new (to me) desk, a modern piece probably out of the Danish Modern style, narrow and legere and just the perfect space for my bedroom, my sanctuary, my quiet space in a house full of kid shoes and toys and dehumidifiers and life.

The lamp is a gift from a friend, with a new lampshade. The chair is from the dining room set–when am I going to need six chairs at once? The boxes are from my parents, who collect nifty things like old boxes and occasionally pass them down to me. The Persian on the floor was given to me by them when I first moved out on my own, and it has miraculously survived all manner of moves through this world.
I prefer not to write on computers. I find I can’t think well on these infernal machines. I need a fountain pen and a delicious piece of paper to express myself well.
Where is your sanctuary? Show me pictures or leave a link to your own blog in the comments. I want to know.

From my desk at work (SH).
Tried to post a pic but it didn’t work. Here:

Sweet little station. I love crate boxes (old ones, like yours). very soothing area. Not big enough for me, but very nice.
nice old crates! thanks for reminding me to get out my pen and paper. writing (as in the good ol’ way) brings out my creativity like nothing else.
Jennifer, I was looking at the top box today.
It was a box of dynamite at one point in its lifetime!
