Breakfast On the Go: Banana Treats

I’m watching Rachel Ray’s 30 Minute Meal as I’m working. Watching the Food Network is one of my favorite weekend morning treats.
Rachel just shared her recipe for a banana breakfast or dessert. She called it Crunchy Monkeys. It’s simply a half banana with a stick stuck in it, spread with a peanut butter and honey mixture that is then sprinkled with granola.
It sounds good, but it got me thinking…. granola is a little hard for little ones and their baby teeth. Couldn’t you do the same thing with another type of cereal? How about Rice Crispies or Honey Nut Cheerios?

I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed not to win the 30 Minute Meals cookbook. So many of us are crunched for time, and dinner in half an hour sounds like heaven. But we can only have one winner!

I really love cookbooks that offer meals that can be made when you get home from work. That’s why I know you’re gonna love this book, 30 Minutes or Less Favorite Foods. The book has 40 recipes for appetizers, snacks, main courses, and desserts that can be ready in 30 minutes or less. It also has generous pictures throughout, which always helps when trying a new recipe.

Food Network Chef Moment…
Ok…I have just had a Rachael Ray moment. Tell me you’ve never pretended you were hosting your own Food Network show, while cooking. It turns out, I do much of my creative and Pet Set planning in my kitchen. I think I’m a frustrated chef.
