It’s been a while since I mentioned Locks of Love and one of the hair cutting events that seem to occur with a fair amount of regularity somewhere in the US of A. As a brief review, Locks of Love is a charitable organization that collects hair donations in order to make children’s wigs. These wigs are distributed without cost to children who have lost their hair for one medical reason or another. In their words:

CAELYX Combo Treatment For Ovarian Cancer Offers Low Incidence of Alopecia

Perhaps I’m still cleansing my soul for the Britney post; perhaps it’s just a news worthy time in the realm of cancer treatments. Regardless, the results of a phase II clinical trial for ovarian cancer treatment have been released, and the indications are positive.

Schering-Plough Corp. (NYSE: SGP) announced today the publication of a multicentre phase II clinical trial that found treatment with CAELYX(R) (pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride), in combination with carboplatin, to be highly effective in patients with ovarian cancer which had been previously treated.
