Since you all ready know that Marc and I have the perfect marriage with absolutely no conflict I thought I would relate the one area that….every day…there is a moment…when…I have to choose…not to commit murder.
Can it be true? Mr. and Mrs. Happily-Ever-After have conflict?
Yes.
Actually, only I have the conflict. Marc just doesn’t care. Here is the scoop…
See I was raised by a father that believed in self discipline. Either you had it or you did not. There was not an excuse to be overweight, lack knowledge, or be a social gaffer. As far as he was concerned [...]
Post from: Blisstree

Since you all ready know that Marc and I have the perfect marriage with absolutely no conflict I thought I would relate the one area that….every day…there is a moment…when…I have to choose…not to commit murder.

Can it be true? Mr. and Mrs. Happily-Ever-After have conflict?

Yes.

Actually, only I have the conflict. Marc just doesn’t care. Here is the scoop…

See I was raised by a father that believed in self discipline. Either you had it or you did not. There was not an excuse to be overweight, lack knowledge, or be a social gaffer. As far as he was concerned everyone either had discipline. Or. They. Did. Not.

This may have led to my anorexia as a teen but we will go there another time.

I grew up not using an alarm clock. Dad hated people sleeping in, something that I tend to have an irritation issue with, too. I must admit, though, when I work until 2 or 3 a.m. it is hard to get up by 7 or 8. Anyway, dad equated sleeping in with abject laziness and lack of discipline.

Have I mentioned my mom loved to sleep late?

He said, “Just tell yourself what time to wake up..and then do it.”

I didn’t know any better so, that is what I have always done. I sort of set my inner alarm clock for whatever time I want to wake up..and then I wake up.

Simple.

Because of that alarm clocks startle me. I wake up to the sound of a strange man’s voice in my bedroom and adrenalin coursing through my body, my heart pounding, my extremities trembling.

Fight or Flight.

But that’s not all. There is a horrid, horrid insturment of torture called, The Snooze Alarm.

And my wonderful husband uses it. Numerous times.

Everytime it goes off I have the same response. Heart pounding, body trembling..followed by a rush of irritation.

Yesterday our 16 year old, Huck, had to be at college at 8. Huck is a perfect son, except he has inherited his father’s propensity for lack of discipline in the area of waking up.

The alarm went off at 5 a.m…Or so.

Marc hit the snooze.

The alarm went off at 5:10

Marc hit the snooze.

The alarm when of at 5:20

Marc hit the…..

Well he almost hit the ground outside the window, two stories down. I growled, “Unplug the darn thing, take the batteries out, or break it. I don’t want to hear it again.”

Marc being the caring, compassionate man that he is, did none of the above. He chuckled. Yes CHUCKLED, and got back into bed.

In 10 minutes the alarm went off again.

:::Tiffany don’t read the next part:::

Now, please understand that I am so not in to gun control. Don’t think that is is not tempting to have the pistol under the pillow for such a time as this. One quick shot and the alarm would be history.

You did know I was talking about the alarm, right?

:::Tiffany, you can read the rest:::::

Do you battle over the snooze? Is this common or is it just me? Because I need to know.
