“No, never! I don’t want photos of Mother [Father, Aunt Suzie, etc.] with Alzheimer’s,” you exclaim.
Each person looks at this differently and the way they want to remember that family member. Some don’t want anything around to recall the Alzheimer’s days. Others don’t mind because many of these memories, even though perhaps bittersweet, are filled with love.

Saving Christmas Memories of Alzheimer’s Family Members

I’ve been working on Christmas memories in my scrapbooks this afternoon with my family gathered around. As I was going through pictures and notes to post I came across some I’d written down during Mother’s Alzheimer’s years. We reminisced about them and Christmas with her in the nursing home.
I realized I needed to write down my Christmas memories….those of my childhood, my married life, the years with grandchildren, and those with Mother in the nursing home.
