Check Out These Pink Ribbon Aircrafts

Earlier this week, two co-branded aircrafts were unveiled … an American Airlines Boeing 757 and an American Eagle Embraer 145, each sporting a pink ribbon motif (it’s a decal, actually, how cool is that?).
They’re adding similar ribbons to an additional six aircrafts in the coming months.
The pink-ribbon planes made their inaugural flights to DFW on August 11th “from Tulsa International Airport (TUL) and Abilene Regional Airport (ABI), where crowds of employees, volunteers, breast cancer survivors and local officials turned out at dawn for sendoff festivities. The flight attendants on both inaugural flights are breast cancer survivors, as well.”

Airline Miles Donated for the Cure

Back in May I announced the affiliation between Susan G. Komen for the Cure and American Airlines — their Miles for the Cure program — do you remember? (If not, here’s the link to that original post.)
Today it was announced that:
Susan G. Komen for the Cure(R), the
world’s largest breast cancer organization, has received more than $600,000
in donations from American Airlines’ “Miles for the Cure” campaign.
They also announced they are continuing the campaign this year until $1 million is raised. Sweet.

Here’s a partnership that works for me: American Airlines and Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. American Airlines has been supporting this organization for more than 20 years, sponsoring the first Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Dallas in 1983 and remaining an Official Race Series Partner today.
