Finally, a celebrity started a trend that doesn’t suck More

Calm down, Natural News, and put your thinking cap back on. There are in fact plenty of reasonable things to say about cancer prevention and preserving bodily integrity, but you have not said them. More
Angelina’s body, Angelina’s choice. Period. More
Hey, look! Someone dug up a psychologist to bash Angelina Jolie‘s body. Radar Online spoke with Jessica Aronson, who used the powers of long-distance psychotherapy to ascertain that Jolie is emaciated, desperate for attention, and probably has an eating disorder —all from just a few minutes of Oscars footage. It’s expected that tabloids will test every possible angle on the week’s biggest story, but their feigned concern for her health is just damaging to readers. More
Angelina Jolie looked extremely thin on the red carpet last night, and headlines about her “look” at the Oscars are, invariably, followed by comment sections filled with remarks about her weight. One of the most common refrains is some variation on the imperative to “eat a cheeseburger,” often paired with musings about her anorexia. But in honor of Eating Disorder Awareness Week, I think we need to stop: Even if we knew more about the state of her health or body image, telling someone who you suspect has an eating disorder to eat more just isn’t body positive, and it’s not helping Jolie or anyone else. When Angelina Jolie stepped on the red carpet at last night’s Golden Globe Awards, all eyes were not on her dress or her hair (as per the usual superficiality of these events), but instead, some people were focused on her weight–or lack of it.
So far, 2011 is shaping up to be the year America goes vegan, but we doubt the dairy industry will go down without a fight. Vegans may have Oprah (for now), but milk boasts some serious celebrity manpower of its own. Of course, we believe that these actresses, models, athletes, and musicians fuel up on milk about as much as we believe that their cute mustaches are actually made of cow juice. But we’re not convinced Oprah will be vegan forever, either. We won’t tell you whether or not you should drink milk (we’ll leave that soapbox for celebrities and scientists), but we just hope no one is buying the message that drinking chocolate milk can give you Brooke Shields’ “busty body” or Heidi Klum’s runway-ready curves. Check out this post about 10 diet regimens so severe that even celebs regret doing them by Emily Tan on MyDaily.
Between the photo shoots and the red carpet blitzkrieg, it’s hard to find a celebrity who isn’t actually afraid of carbs. To make sure they’re up to Tinseltown standards, some rush to extreme diets, fasts or detox plans to get the job done. While this may get our favorit celebs leading-lady ready, a few A-listers have bravely gone on the record to express regret over messing with their food regimens. More
Earlier this week, we asked if Angelina Jolie deserved to lose her status as U.N. Ambassador, as some Bosnian women suggested in response to rumors about the storyline of her new film. Jolie responded to the letter, which condemns her story of a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman who fall in love during the Bosnian war, saying “There’s one person who has a gripe. The absolute majority of the people, population, the cast, prime minister, president have been extremely supportive.” In a statement made in Paris, she also stated that 95% of the film’s cast is survivors of the war. Angelina Jolie’s foray into directing may also be her exit from the good graces of many humanitarian organizations, thanks to her portrayal of a love story between a Muslim woman and Serbian man during the Bosnian War. In a letter to the U.N. from the Women Victims of War Association, female survivors of wartime sexual violence called the actress “ignorant” and expressed their desire to meet with Jolie to offer their perspective for fair representation in the film. They concluded with the suggestion that she be removed from the United Nations’ Refugee Agency, saying: “Angelina made a big mistake. We feel that she did not act like a real UNHCR ambassador and we believe that she has no more credibility to remain the ambassador.”

When Stella McCartney gave birth to her fourth child last week, we wondered if her child-bearing record makes Stella an eco-hypocrite — does having four kids really match up with her environmental advocacy? Some readers disagreed with the logic, citing her ability to pay for her offspring and applauding her for raising more like-minded, earth-conscious children, but other readers agreed that, despite her eco-friendly words and vegan fashion designs, at the end of the day, four kids per family simply isn’t eco-friendly. Last week, we experienced 90210 day (September 2, 2010 or 9/02/10), and our sister site, TheGloss, definitely took note. Take a look at their old-school 90210 photo galleries, plus essential updates on some modern-day reality shows. It’s okay, we won’t tell anyone about your love/hate relationship with Snookie.
Though studies have proven that, on average, vegetarians live longer than their carnivorous counterparts, Angelina Jolie claims that she was unhealthy when she was a vegan: “I was a vegan for a long time, and it nearly killed me. I found that I was not getting enough nutrition.” Angelina also said that she loves red meat, especially steak. More
