We catch The Dog Whisperer when we can and tonight’s episode looks to be pretty interesting: Cesar Milan will be heading to Portland to tackle one tough chihuahua named El Diablo who acts like a dictator, ruling a 50-acre dog rescue and scaring the much larger pit bulls that live there!
Having two chihuahuas ourselves, we have read that chi’s can be vicious little things. Luckily for us, though, that hasn’t been our experience. They have their moods like any other dog but thankfully, more often than not, they’re set to “happy!”

The Super Bowl is just over a week away, which means one thing: Puppy Bowl V!

The half-hour halftime show involves kittens playing around on kitty trees and batting at toys (and each other), and ends with a blast of confetti and streamers.

The best part of all (aside from all the adorable puppies and kittens) is that all the animals in the show are available for adoption after the big day!

So are you going to watch?

Animal Planet will be airing its own performance reality TV with “Dancing With Dogs” this Saturday, December 6th!
The show puts a unique spin on people’s relationships with their dogs, involving something known as “canine musical freestyle,” and it’s exactly what you think it is! People and their dogs will be getting down to rock, hip-hop, classical and country and will include every breed from poodles to retrievers to mutts.
The video clip above maybe isn’t as good as others we’ve seen but the show looks like it’s got potential! Will you be watching?

They were used as guardians, hunters and fighters and though breeders, over time, have softened their temperament they are still a loyal, patient and fearless breed.

The two-hour Dog Show, presented by Purina, follows the Macy’s Parade on NBC and is watched by more than 20 million people. It begins at noon and will be hosted for the seventh time by Seinfeld star John O’Hurley who will be joined by expert analyst David Frei, the face and voice of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on USA Network and America’s foremost authority on the sport. Frei also serves as judge for the Afghan Hound breed in the competition.

Unlike traditional dog show coverage, the National Dog Show also offers family-oriented features on dogs and pet care, facilitated by the open format of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia event, one of only five remaining “benched” shows in which the dogs are on display for the visiting public.

TV Guide recently released their list of the top TV dogs of all time.
What do you think? Did they leave anyone out?
#1 – SNOOPY: You’re a good man, Charlie Brown, but your beagle is so much more than just a good man’s best friend. Whether he’s battling the Red Baron as a World War I Flying Ace or typing away about those dark and stormy nights, Joe Cool rocks the holiday specials and rolls with a Peanuts gallery we’ve loved for decades.
#2 – LASSIE: This almost-psychic collie saved so many lives during [...]
Post from: Blisstree

TV Guide recently released their list of the top TV dogs of all time.

What do you think? Did they leave anyone out?

#1 – SNOOPY: You’re a good man, Charlie Brown, but your beagle is so much more than just a good man’s best friend. Whether he’s battling the Red Baron as a World War I Flying Ace or typing away about those dark and stormy nights, Joe Cool rocks the holiday specials and rolls with a Peanuts gallery we’ve loved for decades.

#2 – LASSIE: This almost-psychic collie saved so many lives during his 20 seasons on TV and countless film incarnations, it is no wonder those farm people were always calling her to come home. Hell, if it weren’t for the heroic hound, poor Timmy would still be stuck in that well.

#3 – EDDIE: If it is true that pets are the only family you get to pick, then Frasier’s Martin Crane lucked out with his scrappy Jack Russell terrier. Cute beyond words and a way better listener that Frasier, Eddie’s alter ego, Moose, even earned a “this is for you!’ shout-out in Kelsey Grammer’s 1994 Emmy speech.

#4 – TRIUMPH THE INSULT COMIC DOG: Without pooping on the other dogs, how many of them have been banned from the Westminster Kennel Club, guested on the Hollywood Squares, and tangled with Eminem at the VMAs? Conan O’Brien’s late-night puppet pooch isn’t afraid to let loose on anyone, which makes him the coolest rubber animal that isn’t a chew toy. Yet. We keed! We keed!

#5 – DOC: Of all the dogs who have shared Meredith’s bed, the Grey’s Anatomy furball was the only one who remained loyal to her till the end. And as awful and (sniff) heartbreaking as it was to watch Mer and Der put him down before his brain cancer got too painful, at least he didn’t have to suffer through Gizzie like we did.

#6 – VINCENT: Some think Walt’s yellow Lab holds the key to Lost’s big mystery. Others think he deserves his own puppy flashback. We think Vince has one of the safest jobs on the planet, because the writers have to know they would be in the doghouse with fans and animal lovers if they killed off this reliable islander!

#7 – ELIZABETH TAYLOR: All the girl power on Sex and the City wasn’t reserved just for Carrie’s human crew. Charlotte’s King Charles Spaniel sweetheart showed up just as she was struggling to conceive and gave her an outlet for all that love. Plus, Char didn’t have to worry about this little bundle being corrupted by her trashy “aunt” Samantha.

#8 – TINKERBELL HILTON: After disappearing, then being coerced into a book deal and paraded around town as Paris Hilton’s four-legged BFF, the original Beverly Hills Chihuahua has had a far-from-simple life. Still, the li’l applehead maintains her dignity and proves that some bitches don’t need to make a mess on the red carpet to stand out from the pack.

#9 – SCOOBY-DOO: He solves crimes, hangs with Cher and the Harlem Globetrotters and has his own line of snacks. Not bad for a Great Dane whose owner is obviously a stoner. And don’t get us started on that whole Swingtown vibe between Daphne, Fred and Velma. Those kids were meddling in something, all right.

#10 – PAUL ANKA: So what if the Gilmore Girls bearded collie couldn’t croon as well as his pop-star inspiration. Lorelai’s shaggy sidekick was a perfect companion during her estrangement from Rory and he was the only Stars Hollow local who didn’t feel the undying need to fire off quips at the speed of light.

Don’t forget, Beverly Hills Chihuahua premieres today (and it looks like it’s a week later than what they were saying back in May)!
I won’t say that I’ve been waiting for it but my kids sure have. They’re out of school for a teacher prep day so I think we may have to go take in a matinee.
The plot synopsis is: “While on vacation in Mexico, Chloe, a ritzy Beverly Hills chihuahua, finds herself lost and in need of assistance in order to get back home.”
It actually looks like it’s got a pretty good cast with Drew Barrymore, Jamie [...]
Post from: Blisstree

It’s not just athletes who have to take drug tests – did you know horses are tested too? I didn’t!
Apparently four horses have been banned from competing at today’s jumping competition at the 2008 Olympics after testing positive for capsaicin, a banned substance. The horses represent Brazil, Germany, Ireland and Norway.
The FEI (International Equestrian Federation) said in a statement: “Capsaicin is classified as a ‘doping’ prohibited substance given its hypersensitising properties, and as a ‘medication class A’ prohibited substance for its pain relieving properties.”
This casts a shadow over a medal already won by Norway, who won a bronze earlier [...]
Post from: Blisstree

An ex-corrections officer and a sheriff deputy on administrative leave claimed to have found the remains of a bigfoot last week in rural Georgia. They not only concocted an entire story about the incident – including having a “scientist” announcing that the remains were authentic who later turned out to be the deputy’s brother, and using a rubber Halloween costume for the body – but even after they admitted to the hoax they carried on as if the body had just been stolen.
Do you ever kind of hold out hope that things like this might be real or just write them all off as hoaxes in the first place?
