In this month’s issue of Men’s Health magazine, celebrity cook Anthony Bourdain has a lengthy article about the 13 places everyone should eat before they die.
The list spans the globe, with restaurants in London, Spain, the US, Singapore and Japan. He cites specific dishes in specific restaurants, ranging from fish to bone marrow and more general cuisine like barbecue and “white tablecloth” meals.
1. Bone marrow at St. John in London
2. Casual dining at elBulli in Girona, Spain
3. & 4. White tablecloth dining from chef Thomas Keller at The French Laundry in Napa Valley, CA and Per Se in New …read more

I’ve been looking forward to this for months! Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations” premieres its fifth season this Monday, January 5 at 10:00pm ET on the Travel Channel.
This season kicks off with Tony in Mexico and Venice, then Washington DC, Azores, Chicago, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
And for those hardcore Anthony Bourdain fans, a friend of mine sent me the following link to a very, uh, revealing picture of Tony (not completely nude but darn near close enough!). Warning: not safe for work, and not safe for little eyes! Do not click here if you are easily …read more

This upcoming Monday, October 20th, Anthony Bourdain is throwing his hat into the talk show ring. Well, it is not exactly a daytime talk show with comfy couches and celebrity promotions…at least I don’t think that it is.
At the Table with Anthony Bourdain premieres Monday night at 10pm EST on the Travel Channel. His guests for this episode are Tim Allen, Bill Buford, Amy Sacco and Chris Wilson. Hmmm….do I know or care what any of these people have to say? The bunch are hanging out and having a gastronomical love affair with some dishes concocted by Chef Wylie …read more
Bourdain Goes FAN-atic in Saudia Arabia

Not too long ago Anthony Bourdain and his producers (something tells me that this was more of a producers idea) sent out a casting call to all the No Reservations fans for videos of places they would wish to take Tony. Well, a winner was declared and this Monday night he and Fan-atic winner Danya Alhamrani visit Saudia Arabia.
This should be an intriguing show. I have no doubt he will be introduced to culturally significant food and the lack of alcohol should prove interesting. It isn’t like he has never been to a country that thinks of women lower than …read more
Anthony Bourdain Cooks Up Some Controversy

Anthony Bourdain is no novice when it comes to edgy maybe even questionable comments, but the chef, author and Travel Channel star may have cooked-up some trouble with a controversial statement he made while in Jamaica filming an episode of No Reservations.
From the South Florida Caribbean News:
According to ReddingNewsReview.com, Bourdain referred to women as “b***ches” when describing dancehall music in the Jamaican-themed episode of the show. It was reported that Bourdain made the following statement about dancehall, “There’s no rootsy, laid back Rasta vibe,” Bourdain narrates. “This ain’t about standing up for your rights or praising Jah or anything like that. …read more
Top Chef Season 4 Heads To Puerto Rico

I am attempting to make-up for a lot of lost time…sitting with ill children and floundering in my own bed has kept me behind the times. I watched last week’s episode of Top Chef and wasn’t too surprised….Thankfully.
I admit that I have been concerned that Lisa or Spike may end up in the top 4 and a talent like Stephanie, or my favorite Richard, would bite the dust in some incredibly inane challenge. I am not going to give a big break-down from last week. Just glad to see that my the final four include the two chefs that I …read more
The Traditional Mai Tai

Since, watching Bourdain’s most recent episode of No Reservations I have become once again nostalgic for Hawaiian breezes and frankly everything to do with paradise. Of course, I must admit, me and my husband border on being a little carried away with Island Fever anyway. I mean…my husband erected a Tiki Hut in our back yard.
Well, I am now craving a Mai Tai. That is all we drank during our honeymoon and there is nothing like drinking a really good Mai Tai out of a Tiki head. We have a friend of ours who has a great recipe, but it …read more
Go Into the Fire with Bourdain

It seems like only yesterday that the season premier of Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations aired. Oh yes, I was only yesterday, well, ok…January. I am often amazed at the number of shows that constitute a “season” on TV today. But, that forgiven, this last week’s episode made me long once again for the islands.
Bourdain hit Hawaii and discovered why tourist silliness and tacky places just don’t matter when you are surrounded by paradise. My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and “ahhh”. I was just happy, giddy and insanely relaxed. Not much can bother you there. After an …read more

TV Guide Dishes with Anthony Bourdain

Anthony Bourdain began his most recent season of No Reservations in Singapore. He ate his way through some incredible food courts….let’s just say they do it much better than we do here is the US. This is a culture that has strong opinions about food. Many a stranger approached Bourdain to give them their critical opinion of how and what to eat. I am definitely putting this on my go-to list.
Bourdain recently dished with TV Guide about the upcoming season of No Reservations, Food Network bashing and life in general. Good news, he recently stopped smoking…though I did see him light-up …read more
