NYC Anti-Soda Ad Asks: Would You Eat 16 Packs of Sugar?

New York City has become fighting grounds for the debate over soda taxes: Lawmakers are pushing for taxes on sugar, unhealthy beverages, while the American Beverage Association and angry consumers scoff at the idea of selectively taxing their favorite products. The taxes are a long way from being realized, but New York City’s Department of Health and Hygiene isn’t giving up on their quest to discourage consumers from propelling themselves towards obesity and health problems.

They’ve just released the following video as part of their anti-soda marketing campaign, asking consumers not to drink what they wouldn’t eat — in particular, the 16 packs of sugar found in a 20-ounce soda. More »
