Southwestern Egg Rolls and Margaritas

My friend, Leah, and I went out for a drink and some appetizers last night.  Neither of us had any idea of where to go, so we decided on Chili’s Bar & Grill, because we love their Margaritas.
We decided to have Margaritas and for appetizers we ordered Chili’s appetizer trio deal called the Triple Dipper. We got a double order of the Southwestern Egg Rolls and the Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip.
I love those Southwestern Egg Rolls, so I’ve been searching the internet for some copy cat recipes.
Here’s what I’ve found so far:

Quick Brie Snack or Appetizer Ideas

I got to try a log of President’s Brie recently. Actually I took it to the lake this last weekend, and used it to make some lakeside appetizers with a few fresh strawberries.
They turned out really fabulous, with a small oatmeal cookie for a base. The brie cheese was rich and creamy, and it really set off the flavor of the strawberries.
You can pair brie with many flavors, including jams, fresh fruit, fresh herbs, or marmalade to create fun snacks or party appetizers. Here are a few more recipes that sound delicious from President’s Brie:
Brie, kiwi & red currants

If you want to make a lot for appetizers or snacks, here’s a modified recipe of the dumplings to make Asian Steamed Meatballs.
INGREDIENTS :
6 button mushrooms, finely chopped
3 stalks of scallions, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, finely copped
1 package of ground pork
2 tsp of rice cooking wine
1 tbsp of …read more

Honey Mustard Wings

When we are having our Hot Wings night, I set aside some of the fried wings for the kids. They usually get them plain or sometimes I make honey-mustard sauce to make them honey-mustard wings. It’s quite simple by the way.
INGREDIENTS :
chicken wings
2 cups of flour
salt and pepper
vegetable oil for deep frying
SAUCE :
1/2 cup or more honey
1/4 cup spicy brown mustard
1 tbsp butter

A New Diabetic Appetizer Recipe To Share, Yummy Asparagus!

I was flipping through my emails and came upon this little video that was sent to me from the dLife Team. I am always one for new and diabetic friendly recipes, and the good ones are few and far between, so I though I would share this video with you. The chef, Chris Smith, the “diabetic chef, shares a great recipe for phyllo asparagus wraps with salsa dip and dishes the dirt on picking a good cheese. I should also share that I love asparagus… I will stop short of sharing why my kids are fascinated with it (it makes …read more
