“Too much of a good thing”, is a truism which would apply to high amounts of this nutrient. Levels higher than the upper tolerable level (400 micrograms per day) would result in minor selenosis symptoms like alopecia&#8211;loss of hair.

Briefly, Aristotle said that virtue lies in the mean (average) between the extremes. His classic example is courage. The one extreme is cowardice; the other foolhardy bravado. The virtuous mean of courage is found between these two extremes.
So it is with many things in  life, including zinc intake. Consider this article over at Hair Loss Buddy.
