Little Rock, Arkansas will be one of three US cities to host “World of the Pharaohs: Treasures of Egypt Revealed,” an exhibit spanning 3,000 years of Egyptian history. The exhibit features over 200 objects, illustrating the rich and diverse history of one of the world’s great civilization. Many of the objects are from the Pyramid age (2675-2130 BC), a preeminent time in Egyptian history.
Some of the notable artifacts that will be on display include:
Decree of Neferirkare (carved on limestone)
False door of Inty
Priestess of Inty
Relief scene from the tomb of Qar and Idu
Ptolemaic sarcophagus lid
Stone vessels and ceramics

ACLU sues over Adoption Restrictions
Over a dozen families sued Tuesday to challenge the new Arkansas law that bans couples living together from adoption or becoming foster parents.
The Arkansas chapter of the ACLU filed the lawsuit in Pulaski County to attempt to overturn Act 1, which was approved last month.

Gay Adoption: Fighting the Battle
In early November Arkansas voters approved a ban on adoption by unmarried couples. I wrote briefly about this on the Chicago Examiner stating that in 1999 Arkansas’s Child Welfare Agency Review Board established a policy that banned gay men and women from serving as foster parents but the Supreme Court ruled against it after a seven-year battle with the ACLU.
Although the title of the measure is “unmarried couples” the agenda clearly is aimed at keeping gay men and women “from becoming foster or adoptive parents”.
