Downing Designs
We are a concrete countertop manufacturer that hosts workshops for families every Saturday here in Tampa, FL. We have a family friendly (read: kids are equals to their parents) twist…we have the Kids place seashells, recycled glass, turquoise, Mother-of-Pearl, etc. into moulds which will in turn be cast with concrete, polished and delivered for their vanity, table or kitchen surface.
This “SeaShell Terrazzo” is gorgeous, one-of-a-kind and becomes a family heirloom/memento of this family-building event for years to come. Please visit our website for more information.

Lisa Letters blog
It’s not your Grandma’s Calligraphy as lettering artist, Lisa Engelbrecht invites you to come and make your mark with various calligraphy tools at her upcoming class. She has always been an outsider in calligraphy circles and she thinks lettering can be done by virtually anyone. Lisa’s book, Modern Mark Making emphasizes inventive and personal letterforms, using the basic ballpoint pen to DIY handmade ones made of stim-u-dents or cola cans. Without years of training, dip pens and endless lining pretty much anyone can make an expressive, personal mark-these are great for handwritten letters, addressing Christmas cards or art …read more

Creating Intentions
Dream Journal
Create this one of a kind “Dream Journal” using the Intentional Scrapbooking Method to activate the Law of Attraction. The intention for this project is to create a physical representation of the subconscious mind. Every time a desire is identified, journal its story and place it within the pages. Your subconscious mind will clearly receive the direction of what you truly want to create and attract into your life.
To be taught throughout 2009 at Scrapbook Territory and various locations. See the schedule at Creating Intentions and click on “Where is Liz?”

Education blitz for January!

Every year, I feel that I need to add some new techniques to my repertoire. I haven’t quite decided what it’s going to be this year, although I’m leaning towards BronzClay. I hope you’ll take this challenge as well, and pick something new to work on, and maybe even to master, in 2009.
To help us get going on our quest, I contacted some folks to teach classes and workshops, and asked them to share their teaching schedules with you. In addition, we’ll be looking at other ways of gaining new mixed media art making skills all throughout …read more

Oh yeah, no problem! I see lots of images that intrigue me! Like the unusual binding structure by Kumi Korf, pictured above.
