The Twisted House

I’m not loving the color but the shape is divine. Also, the colors, while a bit bold for me, do articulate the offbeat lines and protruding and indented spaces well. The home was created out of recycled timber and is energy efficient. Cheryl Heinrichs Architecture, “Incorporated numerous slants, slopes and turns into the home design. Pop-outs, pop-ups and a daring, “twisted” roofline give the exterior an unpredictable quality.” That’s fairly evident from the exterior. What I love is the syncopated window placement which adds not only natural light but interior aesthetics.

Take a look at this and note how the designs on the walls are so interesting — light can be artistic and this home’s window placements prove it.

Really nice work. It reminds me of this one house, right off the highway, that a friend of mine lived in. He had just moved in and for some reason there was foil all over the windows in this one slanted attic space. We were like, “Huh?” Later that night though, we were up there unpacking, and as the cars drove by all these designs played on the walls. Someone had carved pictures very thinly into the foil. It was pretty cool.

Kids can take this home everywhere — not true of the typical doll house. Also, not to get sexist but my son who is all boy in the most boy way one can be even likes this house. He told me it looks cool and most doll homes he passes off as, “Girly.” Yes we are working on him never calling things “Girly.” It’s the only thing he does that really frustrates me.
Kids can play with this 360 degrees, pick it up, carry it around, take it in the car, and even sit it on their lap. The home has 8 rooms along with various stair openings and spyholes plus an attic space.
