The Best Baby Slings for Adoption

Before we left for Guatemala several companies sent me some very lovely slings to try out with Baby Gus (and it was a good thing too because the ladies in Guatemala oohed and ahhed over him in the slings). Any baby in a sling is “lindo” (pretty or cute) and the object of much, much affection.

Going Against the Grain…Attachment at Its Best

I’m goin’ out on a whim here by saying that I am totally against this product and all it stands for…convenience in baby feeding? Everything that I have stood for since adopting my first son has been attachment, because every adopted parent HAS to focus on attachment. Do biological parents just not worry about it?

She Was a Whiz…at the Rebozo

Guatemalan culture is known for its vibrant colors, fabrics, and beauty. The Guatemalan women are known for carrying and “slinging” their babies from birth to well beyond their toddler years. Children spend their days in what are called Rebozos, thick or thin cloths that mold to the child and mother and allow for the mother to carry a child front or back, on the hip, in a cradle, and from 0-36 months.
