Bloomframe is an add-on balcony. The first Bloomframes will, according to designers/architects, Hofman Dujardin, be available early this year. You can add Bloomframe to a new or existing building.
Bloomframe is an add-on balcony. The first Bloomframes will, according to designers/architects, Hofman Dujardin, be available early this year. You can add Bloomframe to a new or existing building. I don’t think a plain old balcony is scary. I mean, anyone can add a balcony on sure. Here’s the thing.
The designer’s website, notes that, safety tests will be run (of course), but I just can’t say I’d feel all that safe with my fold-out balcony, say, 40 stories up.

For those not interested in folding balconies, Hofman Dujardin has other cool structures to see like their Bohebitat, still in the pre-planning stages, but neat none-the-less.

Check out the kooky window arrangement.

I like cartoon looking structures. This one is way fun. It will be black too (black brick actually) which you don’t often see.

Anyone brave enough to try an add-on balcony that folds right up?

Back in the old-school Offbeat days Kevin Humphrey covered the The Mushroom House. However, for those of you who don’t spend your days combing the archives this home is worth a look.

I personally love the Mushroom House. Located in Whistler, Canada it was started way back in the 70s. Not only is the Mushroom House crazy offbeat but the whole home is centered around what the interior of a tree might look like. Zube, the artist behind this masterpiece did an exceptional job. Looking in you really feel like you’re living inside a tree.

It’s fairytale like qualities remind me of the Woodland Home for Elves and Gnomes.

Exterior (mushroom-like; hence the name):

This door leading to the balcony is amazing. Stained glass and cedar wood. According to the Mushroom House site, light plays off the stained glass onto the rocks, water, and the sky above when sunbeams spill in.

Check out the design of the kitchen cabinets:

My dream bedroom, with an incredible view, swirling green walls, and outstanding window shapes… so soothing.

The entire home is unbelievable. You can take a great tour at the Mushroom House website and see all the little touches that make this home exceptional.
