Social Networking for Baldies

Is there anyone on this planet who is somewhat connected to their computer who doesn’t know about social networking sites? I can not go anywhere without running into someone talking about Facebook, MySpace or Twitter. Now the baldies have their own networking site, at Alopecia World. It is a brand new social networking site for people with alopecia, and those who love them.

The site has only been around for a week or so, and already has 200 members. It certainly is growing fast. There are forums, and interesting articles. You can meet new people (I just joined, so you can seek me out). You can post pictures and videos. I am sure you know how it works.

Anyway, please check it out. It looks to be quite an interesting undertaking.

It’s nearing the end of the week, which means I am running out of steam. It’s been a very big blogging day for me. On such occasions, I like to go over my stats with a “fine tooth comb” – ha I am sooo punny!

Anyway, here are some of the more “interesting” key word searches, that have led you to Baldiness

Got Pot – or Propecia?

Starting tomorrow (Jan 28, 2008) you will be able to purchase medicinal marijuana through a vending machine (in the Los Angeles area). Well, you can purchase it, only if you have a prescription from your doctor, and then go through the process of getting finger printed, and getting a prepaid credit card- that holds all of your pertinent information (including how much, and the certain strain you require). You will be able to buy up to 1 oz per week!

OK I know this sounds cutting edge and impressive, but what else is in the works are vending machines that dole out other drugs such as Viagara, Vicodin and Propecia. Guess there are a lot of people who are concerned about hair loss. Maybe they should start reading this blog- and then they would learn about how cool it is to be bald!

Bad Start to the New Year for this Semi-Baldy

I have already started failing at my New Years Resolutions. My major resolution was to blog regularly both here and at CFS Squared. My intentions have been really good, but I have been plagued with computer problems, and I have developed a nasty little habit, of falling asleep at 7:30 pm (this sometimes happens when you live with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). Hopefully, I have gotten myself back on track, and my regular posting will begin again starting…..NOW!

Stay tuned for more exciting blog posts. I hear a lot has happened in the week that I have been gone.

OK, I admit it- it’s a slow day in the world of me relating to bald worthy news. I thought I would fill the time, by showing you how some readers found their way to baldiness – during this first week of 2008. This is not how everyone found their way, just some random searches that stuck out in my mind.

Mustache growing supplement – why would anyone want to take such a thing? – Enlighten me, please
Are hairy people not as evolved – I spit out my morning coffee, when I read this – I had to mop up coffee that went all over my keyboard.

Naked Gail – Sorry folks – Baldiness is NOT that kind of blog
Reasons why men are better than women – something you won’t find discussed here either. We prefer equality on this blog, thank you very much
Do women like the bald look on men? – Hell Yes!
Eating bacon causes baldness – Well I know that certain Victorian era doctors preferred people to eat a vegetarian diet – but I am going to look into this one
Coffee cures baldness – oh I wish this was true – I keep local coffee bars in business with my caffeine addiction – sadly my hair is not long, thick, or luxurious
Snowman tree topper – Oh I love that someone found this blog, by searching that. I hope they enjoyed the picture of the top of my Christmas tree

Hey you MySpacers! Go pass on some kudos and encouragement to Christie who has tossed her wig aside. She made the leap back in April, but it just popped into my RSS Reader today.

Telling everyone is absolutely terrifying, but I know it’s time. I have fantasized about how to tell “the world” for many years. I guess I’ve just gotten increasingly dissatisfied with my “cover-up”. I’m done. I am going to do it afraid…do it despite the terror of it.

Skip2468 over at Keep Smiling has been asked the question: “Are you bald?” Well, clearly those asking haven’t actually seen Skip, because one gander at the photo he posts provides ample evidence that he in not by any definition bald.

He may not be bald, but Skip’s got a great attitude about life. Sounds like he’s made the best of his first 77 years; here’s hoping he gets many more!

Battle Against Bald has a new blogger. Seth has seen his Bosley procedure through as fas as it goes, and he’s handed off the reigns to Torrence, who is approximately 8 weeks post-treatment.
