]]> Back in 2003, the Top 10 Bald Guys Pick up lines made its appearance on David Letterman’s top 10 list.  It is still relevant today.  Well maybe that whole Dick Cheney thing wouldn’t work these days.  But everything else is still cool.  Not like bald men need some kind of extra advantage.  There are loads of women who think bald men are hot.  Wanna know why?   It’s a combination of sensitivity and confidence.  All the bald men that I know, have both in abundance.  But if you want to try Dave’s pick up lines -they might work too.

Scott Adams In Hot Water…Again

A few weeks ago (around Easter time), a new character was introduced on the Dilbert comic strip. The new character’s name is Jesus (pronounced Hay-Soos). In one of the strips, Jesus cures Wally’s baldnes – and Wally turns around and rats him out to management. The timing was unfortunate (the whole Easter thing), and has resulted in quite a lot angry email responses. You can read Mr Adams response here.

Anyway, besides the religious debate – of which it appears to be never ending, what do you think of “Hay-soos” appearing, to sprout new hairs on his head. Do you care either way?

I know – its a lame trick to jump on the debate bandwagon. But I love Wally the way he is….doing everything he can to get fired. He just cracks me up.

So tell me what you think. Did Scott Adams go too far this time? Or are people just looking for a fight? Should Wally have hair- or would that make him feel ambitious – and does that idea (bald people portrayed as slackers) bother you?

I came across this little “explanation” about the blues from the New York Times,

A man with male pattern baldness ain’t the blues. A woman with male pattern baldness is. Breaking your leg cause you were skiing is not the blues. Breaking your leg ’cause a alligator be chompin’ on it is.

Although, now that I think about it, being bald is no cause to sing the blues. However, I might just think this way because I am Canadian, and it’s well known that you aren’t allowed to have the blues in Canada (see numbers 7&8).

Snickers- Part of the Bald Cover Up

]]> People who know me, know that I have this totally insane love for commercials. The fact that we don’t get really good ones in Canada, saddens me. However, I can always rely on YouTube. When I went searching for bald videos this week. The Snickers commercial popped up. I hadn’t seen it before. So I am going to share it with you. Bert from Sesame Street technically isn’t bald, but he does not have a lot of hair on his head (unless you count his eyebrows). In fact when I was a kid, I actually thought that Bert wore a toupee. Yes, for a while I thought Bert and Ernie were actual people and not muppets. I was a strange kid, I have no defense.

A bunch of men decided to turn Bert into a rocket, and they decided to launch him (or 5 of him). The video looks like they had a great time. You might want to keep the kids away from this video, they may not enjoy seeing Bert used for purposes that he was not intended for. Oh and check out cross dresser Bert – his pink dress is very pretty!

Wacky Hair Facts

]]> franz-liszt.jpg  Ever heard of the composer Franz Liszt?  A man so incredibly talented, that it was equaled only by his vanity.  This man was treated like a rock star (before there were rock stars) in the Romantic period.  I suppose, we could actually consider him to be the world’s first rock star….he was definitely idolized like one.

Anyway, so adored was Mr Liszt, that his fans would beg for locks of his hair.  The demand was so great, that in order for him  to keep his many fans happy (and I suspect to keep him from going bald), he would substitute the fur cuttings of dogs – and pass it off as his own.  Crafty don’t you think?

Remember that I said this man was vain, and very fond of his long flowing locks.  This is not a man who would deal well with male patterned baldness.

Thanks to mental floss for reminding me of this little story.
