The second year for the Bead Journal Project is quickly drawing to a close. Last year, I made fairly elaborate pieces that featured the full moon for each month. I knew that this year I would be more pressed for time, so I chose to make very simple pieces. Each month, I chose a fragment of scripture from one of the Psalms and used a heart shape to create a little 4 x 4 inch beaded piece that illustrates the feeling of that verse for me. By the end of August, the entire project for the year should be finished…Yay!

Custom Journals

Since beginning the Bead Journal Project I’ve been wondering what to put my journal pages into. While searching for the perfect journal I came across these on the Seven Gypsies website. It’s not likely I’ll easily find any of those here in Australia, though.
So, I’ve been looking at making a custom journal just for the beaded pages for this challenge. There are plenty of links in this entry.

Journal Writer’s Heaven

I spent most of the day at the Perth Craft & Quilt Fair. Stalls and stalls of goods packed with journal and craft goodies were all there for me to drool over. I saw pens & paper, glues & glitter, rulers that cut paper, paints & dyes, fabrics, thread, yarn, beads of every description and just about every other thing you can imagine. It was difficult using the five hours I’d allocated trying to take everything in. I always seemed to find something I’d missed on the previous circuit through the goods on display.
