In Follow-up to When Adoptions Go Wrong: Dateline Exclusive
Like Lisa at Adopting from Guatemala, I was also pleasantly surprised by the piece Dateline NBC aired last week on Guatemalan adoptions. They did not focus on the rumors of baby snatchers or birth mothers selling their babies, baby farms, or extortion. Rather, they focused in on one story and one attorney; Thanasis, who is supposed to be banned from performing adoptions in Guatemala. Good idea, Dateline. In my opinion, if they had gone that route, they would have tainted Guatemalan adoptions for a long, long, time.
Private Pain
Every Wednesday I get a little bit of reality shoved slammed so hard into my face my stomach lurches. But I can’t help but come back for more every week.

Seven Things…Day Two
I am Pro-Choice. I have seen a lot of children and heard a lot of stories in our adoption process.
I know that there are women out there who know in their hearts that they can’t handle raising their children anymore than they can handle making an adoption plan.
I know there are children out there who suffer way too much because their birth mothers did not treat their bodies well during pregnancy.
And I know that there are situations wherein there is such extreme crisis that a woman just can’t handle the emotional stress of the pregnancy.
