After having moved into a house with lighter carpet last year we decided we needed to figure something else out. I started researching cleaning machines and came up with the Bissell SpotBot Pet Deep Cleaner. The biggest attraction, aside from the good reviews, was that you put the machine on top of the stain, push a button and walk away. You do need fill the reservoir with water and cleaner, but it’s virtually hands-free after that. Even dumping the dirty tank is easy, just unscrew the cap, dump and rinse.

When it showed up we put it to work immediately on a few older spots that had been cleaned previously with other cleaners. The SpotBot actually ended up making such a clean spot on the carpet that I had to move it around the perimeter of the newly clean area so it wasn’t so obvious! Not too long after, one of the cats decided to give us something more to work with and of course it worked well. It also has a hose attachment that you can use for upholstery or hard-to-reach messes like cars and stairs.

After three months now none of the spots have changed color or gotten dirtier and the carpet continues to look great. The machine itself is easy to keep maintained and clean, and the plastic is made with MicroBan technology. Overall, the machine does a great job on pet stains and regular household messes, and has definitely earned its keep!

The Bissell Pet Games

Every year for the last few years Animal Planet has been broadcasting their Puppy Bowl pre-game show. Tune in Sunday, February 3 from 3-6 PM (ET/PT) to see puppies of all breeds do what puppies do best: frolic, tumble, and make you say awww!

From baby beagles to mini dachshunds to mixed breeds — viewers are in for a fantastic lineup that’s itching to play in a winning combination of tackles, puppy penalties and fido first downs. The renowned Harry Kalas, voice of NFL Films, returns to call the play-by-plays of this year’s game.

Cat lovers aren’t left out either. The half-time show, sponsored by Bissell (who else?) – will feature kittens on a glittery stage chasing each other and batting toys around.

Check out the puppy lineup and even find out about the shelters they come from!

And for the first time this year the program will be broadcast in hi-def.
