Blog Action Day was founded by Collis Ta’eed in the summer of 2007. Along with the support of his wife, brother, father, and team at Envato in Australia, he managed to recruit 20,000 bloggers to all write on the same topic on the same day, October 15, 2007. The topic that first year was the environment and it was a huge fun event. In 2008 the topic was poverty and even more bloggers came out to participate. Theme Weeks for Summer Vacation

Last year, at the b5 One Book Two Book blog, I developed Theme Weeks, concentrating on a different topic with related books, web resources, and activities each week of the summer after school was out. I plan to do it again this year in my Parenting topics.

A Web Site or Blog for your Crafting

Nowadays, most crafters have a web site, or at least a blog, for their hobby or business. It’s really almost essential that you develop a blog if you’re expanding your hobby into a business.
Some craftspeople start out with a blog, as my daughter has at Meandering Threads and then may develop a web site where they offer items for sale. Perhaps you simply enjoy sharing your crafting heritage, as I do at Tales of the Trails End Quilters. Here I relate stories about the quilters in my family.
