Going on a virtual blog tour has become a popular technique for promoting one’s writing business and books. Have You Considered Blog Tours to Promote Your Quilt Book(s)?

The hottest technique right now for authors to promote their books is the blog tour or virtual book signing. I’ve been hosting these at my author blog, Mary Emma’s Potpourri of Writing, and would like to do some here.
If authors of quilting and fabric art books have never considered virtual book tours, or thought they were only for novelists, it’s time for rethinking. It appears that novelists may have been among the first to use this method of promotion. “What’s a blog tour like?” I’m often asked, when I write about them, interview tour coordinators like Dorothy Thompson, or host authors on my blog.
Today, I’m hosting author Pamela S. Thibodeaux at my Potpourri of Writing blog. Although she’s not a quilt writer, taking a look at her interview will give you an idea of the usual format for a blog tour or appearance.

Blogging has become one of the newer methods of promotion, whether you’re involved in your fiber art/quilting as a business or simply want to become better known in this field. Many fiber artists operate a personal blog, as my daughter does, relating her latest projects and how they interact with her family life.
