This time it’s The Walk. I am a certified Massage Therapist and in my training, we covered posture, walk, the importance of alignment, etc. Stand up straight, align shoulders, hips, knees, ankles for a more natural, more fluid gait – that’s what I remind myself when I think about it. Apparently a woman’s gait also gives a clue to what kind of orgasms she has, too. What? Oh geez. Yeah, that’s it, it’s how she walks that does it.

Body language articles, I always read them. I find it interesting that so much focus is spent on something like the walk, analysing whether a person is indecisive or not by judging if their shoulders are level when they walk. Mine aren’t. I have an 18-year-old son with special needs. I do all my reaching, lifting, transfering by placing him on the left side of my body. My shoulders are lopsided because I use my body in a lopsided fashion. It has nothing to do with my ability to make decisions. I know that I don’t walk evenly because of the same reason, my right hip is wonky and when I’m running regularly, it’s worse.

Wow, I sound pretty graceless when I write it all out like this….

The arms though, they can be an indicator of confidence, comfort level. Sometimes I am very aware of them and they feel odd to me. Okay, that came out weird…. When I am aware of them, they don’t feel as if they are swinging naturally. Have you ever felt that way?

Too many more articles like this and I’ll find myself afraid to get off the couch and walk across the room in the fear that my left knee will give away my secret desire to rule the world.

AOL Personals had an interesting bit featured today on body language. I’m fascinated by the subconscious cues we give others. We can do so much to present a calculated image, impression, but in the end, we are only truly ourselves and the cues we give with body language can give us away.
Some of the cues Michael Tolosa describes make sense to me, but the rest make it sound like a single woman has only one thing on her mind as she licks her lips, peeks around her menu, or crosses (twines) her legs. Not every woman is on the prowl.

Sometimes we are just interested in a cup of coffee, a glass of wine.

Here is a peek into the article. Click here to read the rest.

*The exposed wrist. The exposed wrist is a sign of submission. The example given here is a woman leaning on her knuckles with her wrist turned palm toward her partner. A sign of vulnerability shows the partner that an approach is welcome. The wrist in the other position, turned away from the partner shows a closed off, do not approach attitude.

*When a woman plays with her hair, it’s a sign that she wants to be touched….or that the wind is blowing. Okay, this is one that I have a problem with because I’ve got long hair and I am always pushing it back or re-twisting it up. Then, again, I do enjoy being touched by the right person, so maybe it does mean what they say. The same is said about toying with accessories, like jewelry.

What do you think about the cues people give with body language? Do you have any moves you watch for when you are on a date?

Today, I took the Cosmo Quiz: Are You in Love or Forcing It? – Cosmopolitan.com, where I learned what I already suspected, I’m in real love. I’m not sure how scientific this quiz is, but it was fun to take.

Then, I clicked on Body Language – Reading a Mans Body Language – Cosmopolitan.com where I learned that the forehead-to-forehead pose that S and I leaned into for a photo yesterday is a sign of trust. Cosmo covers body language in many different aspects, including casual and serious dating, as well as sex and couples who are on the rocks.

Next, I read How Men Think – Marriage – First Date – Cosmopolitan.com. This made me question what sort of things go through my mind on a first date. I know that I usually am looking to see if I feel a spark, but I try not to judge too quickly. Sometimes nerves get in the way and I might feel more comfortable and attracted on a second date. What do you think about during a first date? Do you have a check list?

From there, I followed a link to 21 Little Sex Moves That Will Rock Your World (and His!) – Redbook. Wow, this is seriously not my mother’s Redbook magazine. Spicy. And explicit, so if you are not truly interested in sexing up your sex life, don’t click on the link.

These articles are from women’s magazines, but they offer information that can be helpful and entertaining to both men and women.
