Lizards and Dinosaurs and Boys! Oh My!

My son is what you’d call “all boy.” He likes cars and trucks and dirt and bugs and pretty much anything that boys are supposed to like. I’m a girlie-girl, but even as a kid I climbed trees and got messy. I also didn’t fear snakes and bugs – my phobias are far more irrational. So I barely revolted the other day when we were playing outside and my son proudly announced, “Mommy! Look! I caught my first lizard!”

The Great Gender Debate
Which is harder to raise, boys or girls? If you ask a person who has both, you might get a list of why each sex has its own complications and positive aspects. In my opinion, the boys are harder on my energy level. The girls, however, are more emotional and dramatic, which grates on my nerves more than any boyish habit. Mothers and fathers of teenagers, may offer a completely different viewpoint, since they have to factor in raging hormones and the like.
