During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, you’ve probably seen a lot of ribbons and pink products. You may have also participated in a race or walk to raise money for breast cancer research. You were probably also reminded of the importance of mammograms, but can you name the symptoms of breast cancer?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), women may not have any symptoms during the beginning of breast cancer, but symptoms do appear as the cancer grows. They include:

Have you heard of the Love/Avon Army of Women? It offers is the work of Dr. Susan Love and the Avon Foundation for Women. It bills itself as a partnership between scientists and women, and is recruiting women and men to join the fight to prevent breast cancer. Women can sign up to receive emails that describing a new research project, and if the women fit the need of the project they can accept the “Call to Action” of that specific project.

Kurgo Donates to Breast Cancer Research

Administered by Regions Morgan Keegan Trust (formerly AmSouth Trust), the Walter L. and Phyllis W. Mason Trust has selected The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute Foundation to receive an $812,000 gift for the establishment of a $1.6 million Walter L. and Phyllis W. Mason Endowed Chair for Breast Cancer Research at Moffitt.
The chair and the endowment principal will remain in perpetuity with the Don and Erica Wallace Comprehensive Breast Program at Moffitt to provide ongoing support for a senior level breast cancer researcher and to further breast cancer research efforts.
