Fans of ER and News Radio should send positive thoughts out to Maura Tierney. Tierney has revealed that she will be having surgery for removal of a breast tumor. The actress doesn’t know yet if the tumor is serious, but is remaining optimistic about her prognosis.

Tierney is currently filming the new TV show Parenthood, which is a takeoff of the 1989 movie. The series was set to premiere on September 23rd, but has been put on hold temporarily until Tierney can return to work full-time.
