Last nights episode of SuperNanny was very much like watching home movies of my own life a few years back. I know what it’s like to just get so overwhelmed that you want to submerge yourself into work just to get away from the turmoil of home.

How many of you absolutely fell in love with Jency Williams’ grandparents? I know I did! They reminded me so much of my own grandparents and how they simply commanded respect with their very presence.

I’m not sure where the father was and in these single parent episodes, one can only assume, but I hope for the sake of those children, dad, if able, plays an active role in the lives of his kids.

Ok, how many of you were thinking that Brian McAfee from a couple of weeks ago and Jency should be introduced? If nothing else, I think those two would make a great pair of friends to lean on.

What can I say, I’m the forever cupid at heart!

Regardless, I am so happy that Jency has her grandparents there. I think the morals and values they can introduce those children to are priceless. I certainly hope Jency’s kids are absorbing enough of what great grandma and grandpa have to teach, because so many smaller children don’t have such a wonderful luxury these days.

Did you happen to catch Monday nights episode of SuperNanny?

I don’t know about you, but my heart ached for this single dad, stuck up in Alaska with four small children. Perhaps I missed the part where they mentioned mom, but as far as I could see, mom wasn’t around. One wouldn’t have to wonder long as to where some of the issues were stemming from?

What Supernanny did for Brian McAfee in this episode was much more then to help find ways of handling the family situations – Jo Frost introduced him to neighbors and friends he might never have met on his own.

The poor guy seemed so painfully shy – I don’t think you’d have caught him talking to the cashier at the grocery store – much less making an effort to meet new friends on his own.

Perhaps this show will help build his self esteem and confidence to a level that will spill over into his life with his children.

At this point right now, given what I’ve seen on this episode, I’m going to say that if mom abandoned those kids and left her ex to deal with them entirely on his own, she doesn’t deserve an ounce of respect and I hope she doesn’t go off someplace else to create a whole new family with someone else – leaving this one behind.

If I’m wrong and the truth reveals itself, I’d be happy to admit my error. However, as a mother myself, I can’t imagine not being in my children’s lives and have very little, if any, respect for any mother that could.

Newly-divorced Dad of four Brian McAfee has shut himself off from his kids and friends while he mourns his broken marriage. The house is a disaster and discipline is non-existent.

Newly-divorced Dad of four Brian McAfee has shut himself off from his kids and friends while he mourns his broken marriage.
I’m really looking forward to this particular episode because it focuses on the single parent and what’s more is it’s focusing on the single DAD! So many of us tend to forget the single dad does exist and never in a million years would we think they have issues! *gasp*

I think it’s great that SuperNanny is showing such a wide variety of families in varied dynamics lately.

Before the show even airs tonight, I’m finding myself wondering – Where is MOM?

We shall see! Who will be watching with me?
