Many women who have C-sections feel that they would like having a VBAC, or vaginal birth after C-section. In many cases, this is possible, providing that the pregnancy following the C-section goes smoothly and the labor is going well.
Unfortunately, because of the ever increasing risk of being sued, many doctors don’t want to do VBACs and – some are more economically minded and prefer to know when they need to be around and they can time C-sections much more easily. You may know in advance that you are delivering by Caesarian section (C-section) or you may be advised of this during your labor. The rate of C-sections is rising in North America and is continuing to rise.
If you are going to have a C-section or are curious about them, this video explains the process of a C-section and shows how one is done. Warning: this is a graphic video that shows the actual procedure.
