Red Velvet Cake W/ Cream Cheese Frosting

I made red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting last weekend. It was YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY. I don’t know how else to describe it but Yummy, heh. It’s not pretty, actually the round cakes were uneven but I only made it for us so It didn’t matter to us. It was still delicious.
INGREDIENTS : (Cake Recipe Inspired by AllRecipes)
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp of cocoa
4 tbsp of red food coloring
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp white vinegar

Indiana Jones Birthday Cake

My son celebrated his 11th birthday this past weekend. I would like to share his Indiana Jones Cake that I bought from Wal-Mart.
I know I didn’t make the cake myself but I am impressed with Wal-Mart’s selection so I’m giving them props . I usually pick 2 layers of yellow and chocolate cake whenever I order birthday cakes for my children but this time I around I opted for a marbled cake. It Is So Hard To Always Make “Good” Choices

Okay, here is a little personal reflection if you will. I want some chocolate like it is going out of style. I am so darn hungry for some “junk” right now. My hubby and I are sitting here watching the first game of the NFL season and all I can think is, “chocolate cheesecake”.
