Save time with a master grocery list

I don’t buy too many groceries currently, but when I had more people living with me, I kept a master grocery list to save time.
You can easily create a master grocery list, keep it on your computer, and print it out when you need it. Take a hour, and go through your pantry and fridge, jotting down items you normally keep around. Sort items by bold headed food groups like dairy, natural, baking, frozen, beverages, produce, canned items, and so on. If you like, you can add a household category with items like toilet paper and foil.
After each category, leave …read more

Choose Your Calendar Early

It’s almost never too early to start thinking about next year’s calendar; not with so many lovely ones to choose from. Also, with the holidays coming up, you might consider some calendars as gifts – everyone needs one.
I found this calendar shown below recently and I think I’m a little in love:

This is the Classic Calendar from Mrs. John L Strong. Featuring 12 classic images from Mrs. John L. Strong’s archive of famous dies stamped in gold, and sold with a 19th century based brass table easel, this calendar will look amazing on any desk – fancy; but not overly …read more

Make sure your Internet experience is organized

Maybe you don’t care if your Internet experience is organized or not. As someone who works online only, I can tell you that I care DEEPLY that my Internet experience goes major smooth.
Guess what happened three days ago? My Internet experience failed to go smoothly. My modem died. No warning, no seemingly awkward pauses in service; it just flat out died. NO INTERNET. That’s nightmare inducing for me. My lovely Internet service provider folks wanted to send me a new modem super quick; like in a week or two. WHAT? Um, no.
Three days, three trips to the modem store, …read more

Are Address Books Obsolete?

I was sorting some stuff, and found some old address books. I used to keep all my friend’s info in there. Phone numbers, birthdays, etc. At this point in life, I’m all digital. I have a pda, computer, and cell phone.
Pros of digital storage:

Well, no paper.
Easy to carry with you – if you have a small digital solution.
Easy to transfer to a new solution.

Cons:
I had over 200 phone numbers on my last cell phone. My cellphone died. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the old memory card to work on my new cell phone. …read more

Anywhere Vault – One Home Inventory Solution

I want to kick this week off with an intro to Anywhere Vault. Recently here at Declutter It we discussed home inventory lists. We looked at both how to create a home inventory and also talked about items that should be included in your inventory. In the comments, Lisa mentioned that you could keep an inventory on your own website – a choice I was concerned with due to server issues. I’m blog savvy, but not quite as good when I’m in charge of my own website and server issues; I mean I manage, but it’s a little stressful.
