July 1st is Canada Day in Canada. The day commemorates the Constitution Act of 1982 which gave that country self-rule. Canada is a legal holiday and most businesses and government offices in Canada are closed. From British Columbia to Nova Scotia, Canada Day is marked by parades, festivals, fireworks and other celebrations.
