Great Dane Promoting Collars for Cures

Roxy wants your attention, please.
The Great Dane is the face behind Collars for Cures, a company recently launched by a couple in Hollywood, Chris and Erica Nelson. They’ll donate 50% of all profits from collars sold to promote a cure for cancer via research by the American Association for Cancer Research Foundation (AACR).

CollarsForCures.com offers pet collars and human t-shirts in five sizes. Whether you’re hooking up a cat or  Great Dane, Collars for Cures will likely have the size you need.

A study published recently in the journal Cancer Research said:
Age-specific cancer mortality rates have been steadily declining in the United States since the early 1950s, beginning with children and young adults and now including all age groups. The Art Doll raffle has begun!

Please join me in being very excited about this!  The Art Doll that our group, Ties That Bind, created is ready for raffling.  We’re attempting to raise as much money as possible for Ovarian Cancer research.  It seems amazing to me that it was one year ago that we started this project.  Thanks to the tireless efforts of Aileen Roberts, Jan Brown, and others, we’re already anticipating great success.
Tickets can be purchased until September 30, 2009.

Elizabeth Edwards Announces Cancer Recurrence

No matter what side of the aisle your political passions reside, it must give you pause for reflection and awe — after watching Elizabeth, with Senator Edwards at her side.
She announced that cancer was detected, that it probably had spread and that it is incurable.
Not curable, but treatable.
Which tells us that from now on, our National lexicon about Cancer may have changed.
When we hear the word Cancer…we might discuss it with our loved ones in a different way…in much the same way as we discuss Diabetes.
In other words, it might be possible for Ms. Edwards to live with Cancer, operative …read more
