Tree Nuts and Diabetes

Tree nuts (pecans, almonds, cashews, Brazil nuts, pine nuts, walnuts, and hazelnuts) have for some time been known to help reduce the risk of heart disease. Now there is evidence to suggest that they may reduce the risk of non-insulin dependent (type 2) diabetes. Researchers from the University of Toronto and St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto are presenting a paper at this week’s Experimental Biology Annual Meeting in New Orleans to support this theory.

Oh Nuts! It’s a Review

Oh Nuts! carries a great selection of nuts, seeds, dried fruit, candy, and coffee beans. I recently had the opportunity to try their Almonds, Cashews, Dried Turkish Apricots, and Turkish Pistachios.
Here are the things that I liked about the products that I tried:
*The order arrived very quickly.
*The cashews and almonds were larger than any almonds and cashews that I have every tried before.
*All the nuts were fresh and flavorful.
*The pistachios had a tasty seasoning.
*The apricots were good-sized and just lovely, no brown spots, very good flavor.
*The packaging was handy – plastic bags with zip-lock tops.
